Heat pump design that considers the whole building

Performance matters. So do appearance, sound, controls and the practicalities of installation. Kronoterm brings these considerations together through in-house development and a range designed for different buildings and applications.

A considered approach

Designed to belong in everyday life

How should a heat pump look, sound and work when it becomes part of someone’s home? That question has helped shape Kronoterm’s approach to product development.

The original ADAPT brought its engineers together with industrial design studio Gigodesign to consider appearance, performance and the experience of using the equipment. The result established a recognisable design language: clean forms, carefully chosen materials and technology intended to sit comfortably within its surroundings.

That thinking continues across the range. From the exterior casing to the components and controls inside, design decisions address how a heat pump is installed, experienced and maintained.

The Kronoterm approach

The difference is in the details

A recognisable design language

Clean lines, balanced proportions and a restrained appearance give the equipment a considered architectural presence.

Materials with character

MyDesign options on selected products introduce finishes such as Corten and stainless steel, providing alternatives to a conventional painted casing.

Acoustic engineering

Airflow, insulation and vibration management are developed together to reduce the sound generated and transmitted during operation.

Concealed connections

On ADAPT 2, concealed hydraulic connections contribute to a cleaner installation and a more resolved exterior.

Modular thinking

Products such as ETERA and ADAPT MAX use modular construction to support installation, servicing and system flexibility.

Intelligent interaction

Room controllers and connected interfaces extend the design approach into everyday operation, helping users manage comfort and understand their system.

Appearance with an engineering purpose
INDUSTRIAL DESIGN

Appearance with an engineering purpose

A heat pump’s casing shapes more than its appearance. It influences airflow, weather protection, acoustic performance and access to the equipment inside. Kronoterm develops these requirements together, creating products whose external form reflects careful consideration of how they work and where they will be installed.

  • Form and function developed together
  • Materials chosen for the setting
  • Attention to installation and service access
The capability to keep moving forward
IN-HOUSE DEVELOPMENT

The capability to keep moving forward

Kronoterm develops, manufactures and tests its heat pumps in Slovenia. Its own development laboratory allows engineers to investigate performance, evaluate new products and respond to the requirements of different applications and markets. This gives product development a practical focus: improving the equipment and finding better answers to the challenges customers face.

  • Specialist engineering knowledge
  • In-house development and testing
  • New solutions for different applications
Innovation in practice

New challenges. Purpose-built solutions.

Kronoterm’s development work reaches beyond refining a single product. Its range shows how different engineering ideas can address limited space, greater heating demands, easier maintenance and dedicated hot water production.

ETERA: Designed for access and renewal ETERA

ETERA: Designed for access and renewal

Modular construction and standardised connections support installation, maintenance and component replacement, bringing long-term service considerations into geothermal product design.

VERSI: More installation possibilities VERSI X

VERSI: More installation possibilities

Different indoor and outdoor configurations respond to the challenge of fitting air source technology into smaller properties and buildings with limited available space.

ESSENTA: Rethinking hot water heating ESSENTA

ESSENTA: Rethinking hot water heating

A structurally separated compressor section, optimised internal airflow and flexible air connections address sound and installation requirements in a dedicated hot water heat pump.

Recognised design. Continued development.

An award-winning idea that keeps evolving

The original ADAPT received an Archiproducts Design Award in 2019 and the Green Product Award 2023 Editor’s Choice distinction in the Building Components category. These recognised a product that brought engineering, appearance and environmental considerations together.

The development story has continued through ETERA geothermal systems, the modular commercial ADAPT MAX and ESSENTA hot water heat pumps. ADAPT 2, introduced in 2026, carries the original design approach into a new generation.

Together, these developments show Kronoterm’s commitment to improving established products while creating solutions for different buildings and demands.
  • International recognition for the original ADAPT
  • Patented modular design for ADAPT MAX
  • New solutions across heating and hot water
  • Continued development of the ADAPT range
